Supporting clean-energy-preneurs innovate and launch
businesses for the agri-fishery sector in Cambodia
What is our Clean Energy &
AgriFishery Incubation Program?
A program to support the development of new clean energy businesses for the agriculture and fishery sector to promote sustainable economic growth in Cambodia.

This program will help clean-preneurs ideate, validate and successfully launch clean energy businesses for the agri-fishery market, through our process of
Hackathon, 6 week Pre-Incubation & 1 year Incubation
Who are the teams?
Agriculture Techniques
wants to solve the problem of low agri-fishery production and high electricity cost for farmers in rural areas. Their business aims to modernize the agriculture techniques in Cambodia by introducing the solar operated aerators for intensive aquaculture.
KRETA
stands for "Khmer Renewable Energy Technology for Aquaculture''. The team focuses on modernizing fish farming through solar technology. The business aims to provide a reliable solar energy solution to supply water pumps and air pumps in the fish tank. The system uses smart automation to optimize water quality conditions of specific types of fish farming.
Shrimp House
Traditionally, Cambodian farmers have farmed shrimp in a cement tank that is not convenient to move and difficult to control water quality. These limitations have caused the decline of yield. In addition, there is a loss of shrimp resources in the Tonle Sap meaning farmers may need to turn to farmed fish. Hence, this business aims to develop a user-friendly shrimp kit using a pool made of plastic which is easy to move and does not need a large space. This solution will help farmers to manage their production efficiently.
Smart Farm Assistance
Seeing farmers spend most of their time on their rice fields and plantations inspired a team of Cambodian youths to create a device that will save their time and modernize the agriculture techniques. This business focuses on solving farm management problems by using the Internet of Things (IoT) to collect data on crops and to remotely control farming equipment on-the-ground, informed decision-making, all managed from a cloud platform.
Solar Cold Storage
Cambodian remote communities living in Tonle Sap area with no grid power availability, the conventional solution of powering refrigeration is with diesel gensets. However this has significant operating costs and logistical challenges. This poses a challenge for the agri-fishery sector in these areas of Cambodia, where farmers have experienced substantial losses of their productions. Therefore, this startup wants to solve this issue by supplying solar cold storage solutions to fish harvesting businesses to reduce the cost and increase food quality.
Tonlesap Shrimp Queen
Tonlesap Shrimp Queen's mission is to reinvigorate the freshwater shrimp market with a premium market product. The business focuses on the processing of drying the Tonle Sap freshwater shrimp through solar technology. The value proposition of the products to consumers is hygiene, organic and social impact to the fisheries community in Tonle Sap. They will own facilities, solar technology and quality control in Siem Reap province. The packaging and sales distribution will be in Phnom Penh.
