TOAST TO CLEAN ENERGY &

CLEAN ENERGY AWARD

We concluded CEW 2025 with the Toast to Clean Energy and Clean Energy Awards (CEA), held on 9 October at the Australian Ambassador’s Residence. As a CEW annual tradition, the Toast to Clean Energy serves as a high-level reception bringing together government representatives, embassies, development partners, and private sector leaders to network and celebrate clean energy champions.

The reception was presided over by H.E. Derek Yip, Australian Ambassador to Cambodia, and featured a keynote address by H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, followed by Clean Energy Week 2025 Reflection Remarks from Mr. Natharoun Ngo Son, EnergyLab’s Regional Director for Energy & Economic Growth. The key message was clear: the clean energy transition is essential for Cambodia’s development and economic competitiveness. As Mr. Natharoun Ngo Son emphasised:

“This year, we set a new path to demonstrate that clean energy is not just a strong climate lever, but also a powerful economic one. It will help Cambodia protect existing industries while attracting new ones, promote faster adaptation to changing trade rules and rising tariffs, and enhance overall competitiveness.”

The evening also featured the Clean Energy Awards 2025, which recognise and inspire outstanding efforts, innovations, and initiatives advancing Cambodia’s clean energy transition. We warmly congratulate this year’s award recipients for their remarkable contributions:

  • Clean Energy Champion Award: Dr. Kinnaleth Vongchanh, Lecturer-Researcher, Program Manager, and Founder of the Cambodia Energy Manager and Auditor Training (CEMAT) Program, and Head of the Thermal Laboratory
  • Most Impactful Clean Energy Community Project Award: UNICEF Cambodia
  • Energy Efficiency Award: Sela Pepper Co., Ltd.
