Clean Energy Fellowship 2026
Your Clean Energy Journey Starts Here

Since 2019, Clean Energy Fellowship (CEF) has equipped early and mid-career professionals from across Cambodia with the skills they need to be transformative and influential advocates for clean energy. The program features three interconnected components: training, field visits to clean energy companies, and the publication of think pieces. These components are designed not only to build knowledge of clean energy, but also to develop critical thinking and leadership capabilities.

What's New in 2026?
  • Grants Introduced
We're introducing two types of competitive grants: travel grants to attend clean energy conferences and events in Southeast Asia, and project grants (up to $3,000) to support implementation of community clean energy solutions.
  • Expanding to Siem Reap
We're expanding our program to Siem Reap, providing early- and mid-career professionals in the city with access to the same program and opportunities as the Phnom Penh cohort.

Think Piece Publication
Generation Power: The Future of Clean Energy | Issue 02
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the second volume of our Think Piece Publication, marking the remarkable journey of our Clean Energy Fellows in 2025. This year’s cohort produced the 21 think pieces featured in this issue. This collection covers a wide range of topics, drawing upon some
interesting regional and global examples to demonstrate to readers that many of the ideas included are already practical, actionable and possible; it just remains for Cambodia to adopt
or scale up. We invite you to read and immerse yourself in the thinking of each Fellow. As you turn these pages, you’re not just reading about the clean energy challenges and solutions put forward—you’re witnessing their ambition and passion for a future powered by clean energy.
Generation Power: The Future of Clean Energy | Issue 01
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first ever Think Piece Publication, marking the remarkable journey of our Clean Energy Fellows in 2024. The think piece component develops fellows into energy thought leaders through three key aspects: critical thinking to analyse complex clean energy challenges, practical application by adapting global trends to Cambodia's context, and leadership development by contributing original solutions to Cambodia's energy future. We invite you to sit with each think piece, each a fellow’s meditation on a matter that touches the everyday life of people in Cambodia. It is our hope that this publication will power a future forward, from thought to action.
Let's Hear From Our Alumni
"Clean Energy Fellowship program is a unique opportunity for in-depth research in clean energy in Cambodia. I gained a thorough grasp of Cambodia's energy landscape, knowledge of the challenges associated with the clean energy transition, and insights into market dynamics and policy."
