EnergyLab supported the Ministry of Economy and Finance to convene a Development Partner and Private sector consultation on their proposed Electric Vehicle Policy

On 8th April 2024, EnergyLab supported the Ministry of Economy and Finance to convene a Development Partner and Private sector consultation on their proposed Electric Vehicle Policy. This important step allowed for a meaningful discussion on EV development in Cambodia.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the policy's key elements to stakeholders and gather their inputs and recommendations. It aimed to ensure buy-in and collaboration between sectors as the Royal Government of Cambodia pursues its ambitious goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

Making the switch to electric vehicles requires tackling more than just introducing new technology. It requires thinking around charging infrastructure, renewable energy integration, grid management, standards, and more. The meeting was a great chance for different groups to connect on challenges and opportunities as the EV future approaches.

EnergyLab is proud to support Cambodia's transition to clean transport. This consultation was an important step towards building consensus around inclusive strategies that benefit both the economy and the environment. Exciting work is ahead!

We would like to thank the Australian Embassy and Australian Aid for their support.
