Sustainability & Green Tech: At the Intersection of Innovation and Impact

On February 24, 2026, our Energy Policy Coordinator, Ms. Sreyleak Phon, attended “Builders & Backers: Scaling Green x Digital Solutions for Cambodia,” hosted by Impact Hub & GIZ Cambodia. The event showcased six ventures supported through the DGIx Accelerator program, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, and partners committed to improving Cambodia’s digital and green economy.

The plenary session themed “Digital & Green Frontiers,” underscored the need to integrate sustainability into Cambodia’s technological growth, with speakers emphasising that building a green, tech-driven economy requires collaboration, strong infrastructure, and long-term support from the ecosystem.

Among the ventures, several stood out. Dorsu, a sustainable apparel brand, repurposes textile waste into high-quality clothing, demonstrating how circular production can remain commercially viable. Evola Cambodia converts food waste into protein-rich animal feed using Black Soldier Fly production — an innovative solution to urban waste that also supports local agriculture. konektAgri leverages digital tools to make agricultural lending smarter and less risky, improving farmers' access to finance.

We were particularly impressed by VP.Start, a Cambodian-founded venture working to digitalise and modernise the national grid through smart grid solutions, cloud services, and home automation — a strong example of homegrown technology driving local infrastructure development.

During the networking break, we engaged directly with venture representatives, exploring partnership opportunities and gaining insight into the challenges these startups face. The event's interactive format made for meaningful and practical exchanges.

Overall, the experience reinforced the conviction that Cambodia's future lies at the intersection of innovation and sustainability — and our encouragement at the growing momentum behind digital and green solutions across the country.
