Building Local Energy Modelling Capacity in Laos: EnergyLab Asia's Intensive PyPSA Training with EDL and NUOL

EnergyLab Asia (Lao PDR) supporting EDL, MOIC and NUOL to build local energy modelling capacity for a sustainable energy future in Laos.

We are excited to kick off a couple of weeks of intensive energy modeling training here in Vientiane! From 16 to 27 March 2026, EnergyLab Asia are leading a deep dive into energy modelling for system planning and scheduling/dispatch using PyPSA, a powerful open source energy modelling tool.

Great things happen when engineers, academia, and international expertise align. We are proud to be working alongside Electricité du Laos (EDL) and the National University of Laos (NUOL) and Climate Compatible Growth (CCG).

Capacity building isn't just about software; it’s about empowering people to use innovative tools to lead the energy transition.
