Thank you very much to Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR) and Energy Foundation China for giving EnergyLab Asia the opportunity to present a Decentralised Energy Resources (DER) case-study from Cambodia, designed and implemented by UNDP Cambodia (in partnership with Ministry of Mines and Energy Cambodia, អគ្គិសនីកម្ពុជា - EDC , អាជ្ញាធរអគ្គិសនីកម្ពុជា EAC). Our directors Mr Natharoun Ngo Son and Mr Dean Rizzetti got the chance to showcase the socio-economic benefits that solar mini-grids brought to the Jarai People, one of Cambodia’s most remote and vulnerable communities. They also highlighted that DER is not only a last mile solution, but presents a lot of untapped potential to help meet future increasing energy demand and remove the increasing load on the grid while stabilising electricity supply.
